We ask you not to cancel, so we won’t either. Once someone has paid for a course, we will always run it.

Terms and Conditions

If you really really really need to cancel, please let us know as soon as you can. We will do our best to reschedule you into the next available course at no cost.

Our Policy:

1: Course placement is not guaranteed without payment.

2: If you must reschedule, you will be placed in the next available course. You will need to pay the difference (if any) in the cost of the course.

3: Cancellations greater than 14 business days prior to the start of a course may be subject to a $50 administrative penalty.

4: Cancellations more than 7 and less than 14 business days prior are subject to a cancellation fee up to 50% of the registration fee.

5: Cancellations within 7 days are not entitled to any refund. Penalties assessed on a case-by-case basis.

6: If you miss more then 10% of course work for any reason, the entire course must be retaken (per Transport Canada regulations) at your own cost.

7: Training Certificates are not issued without payment in full.

Coprorate & Group Policy

We are very happy to help companies and organizations organize quality training for their employees.

However, for our advertised courses unless otherwise agreed to, we do not book more than 3 students per company into any one course. This is to allow space for other students.

If you have more than 3 employee who need the same training, we will be very happy to set up custome dates that fir your schedule

Covid-19 Procedures:

Safer Ocean Systems will remain open and continue to offer high-quality marine training. We are committed to providing the safest way possible environment to ensure that we are protecting the health of our customers and staff.

Until further notice we are enacting the following safety procedures:

  1. Unless otherwise stated, Class sizes will be limited to 12 persons maximum. Some class sizes may vary depending on the course and our ability to maintain proper distancing.

  2. Each person (students, instructor, staff, or contractor) who enters (or reenters) the building will immediately use the provided hand sanitizer or go directly to the bathroom to wash their hands with soap and water.

  3. Anyone exhibiting possible Covid-19 symptoms (Fever, new cough, shortness of breath, feeling generally unwell) will be asked to leave and will be rebooked in the next available course.

  4. Everyone will maintain strict social distancing protocols. Always remain 1 fathom (2 meters) from others.

  5. Face Coverings (mask, scarf, bandana, visor etc..) are Strongly Recommended at all times, and will be required in times when physical distancing is not possible. SOS staff have the authority to require any student or client to put of a face covering, and may remove someone from the premises if they fail to follow safety instructions.

  6. We have increased our cleaning services and will be disinfecting high touch areas throughout the day.

  7. There will be no sharing of food, drinks, or snacks. Please feel free to bring food and drinks with you. We regret to announce that we will not be providing a coffee station or snacks at this time. Breaks can be taken at your desk or outside, the office will not be available for congregating.

  8. Anyone who fails to adhere to these policies will be removed from the course without re-booking and will forfeit the registration fees.
