Safer Ocean Systems does not offer SVMO courses. However, one of our instructors offers private tutoring and exam preparation. Many commercial vessels under 500GT are required to carry an SVMO ticket holder. The Chartwork & Pilotage Level 2 course is a pre-requisite for: Master 150, Domestic Fishing Master 3 Mate 500 GT, Domestic Watchkeeping Mate, Domestic You must take Chartwork & Pilotage Level 1 (Part A & B) with us, before taking this course. This is a 12-Day course, it comes in two parts:

STCW Basic Safety Training (formerly MED A1 + B2) is required for crew members on commercial vessels. This training is essential for those working on vessels of any size that operate in international waters or are subject to the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) regulations.

STCW Proficiency in Survival Craft (formerly MED B1) certification is required for crew members on these vessel types: -Passenger Vessels: This includes ferries and cruise ships that carry passengers on domestic or international voyages1. -Cargo Ships: Vessels that transport goods and operate in international waters2. -Offshore Supply Vessels: Ships that support offshore oil and gas operations. -Fishing Vessels: Larger commercial fishing boats, especially those operating in more hazardous or remote areas.

The STCW Advanced Fire course (formerly known as MED B2 +C) is required for the following roles on vessels: - Officers and senior ratings who will lead a shipboard fire party. - Leaders of fire control teams during onboard fire incidents. - Officers and crew designated to oversee firefighting operations on large domestic vessels. - Officers and firefighters seeking to enhance their advanced firefighting tactics and leadership skills. - Crew members tasked with managing complex fire emergencies.

This is not an approved course but is designed to help you prepare for the Transport Canada Examination for Ship Construction and Stability, Level 3.
